I hope this is real, and that this is not some sort of psyop to make us drop our guard.
We will have a wall, to not only keep out the mexican criminals, but to keep out the violence from the coming mexican civil war. We will also send the dreamers back home, so that they can fix their shit hole countries.

Let's be honest. Shumer didn't cave because he wanted to, he caved because of the 2018 mid term elections. First more Democrats are up for re-election than Republicans (the senate). Secondly the Democrats have made some inroads into Red America in the last half of the Obama administration (Senate again) Even some house districts which the Democrats consider safe are really just purple. If enough people get angry over Emigration (which polls show are hot button issue with 75% of people wanting something done to control unfettered emigration) the democrats will lose house seats. Shumer looked at the electoral map and computed democratic losses over shutting down the government and it was not good. It was better to anger his own base (just who the fuck are they going to vote for) than anger the voters of democratic districts that could and would vote republican. Shumer really didn't have much of a choice.

You mean immigration, not emigration. I have seen no discussions on emigration, beyond talk of some illegals emigrating to Canada. And one suspects unfettered emigration would not be objectionable to many people.

Schumer blinked.

Trump winning isn't necessarily a Republican win. Not really in the traditional way. Trump winning is more in line with when the tea party took a bunch of seats in the house a few years ago. He wasn't anywhere near the GOPs pick for the job. The GOP wasn't getting things done the way their voters wanted so they voted him in. There were a LOT of choices too. The GOP has had to learn to work with him with varing degrees of success.
After this last election the Dems are facing the same type of identity crisis the GOP did during the Obama years. It comes down to the problem with having only 2 parties to choose from and each party becoming a sloppier "catch all" party with each political cycle.
My prediction is a more that even further left leaning politicians will start replacing seats previously held by more centrist democrats.

Lol they caved cause they knew they fucked up by taking illegals side over Americans and it showed how demokkkrats are so anti America that it should be considered treason.
