I remember the 2010 census forms coming around. It asked some very intrusive questions that went far, far, far beyond simply "how many people live at your residence and how many of them are citizens?"

If the point of the census is to determine the distribution of representation in the House, then that is the only question the census should be asking. The enemy country doesn't need to know how much money I make, or what I consider my race to be, or what type of heating system I have.

Like everything else the enemy country touches, the census may have been started with good intentions, but it has mutated into a tool of surveillance and repression.
