The USA has something like 17 official major intelligence agencies (not sure of that number - or if it includes military agencies - or if there are agencies that we know not of.)
Anyways - breaking up both the FBI and the CIA is very doable - basically you just parcel out the various departments - scattering them among the other agencies - and perhaps restaffing a bunch of that - but it is doable... and that is what I thought was going to happen.
However, there is more than one way to skin a cat - and there is value in maintaining tradition. Trump seems to have identified at least one major group of swamp dwellers and is standing back while the administrative machine drains the swamp for him. This too is smart - because it gives him political distance between himself (highly charged) and the targets in question (filthy traitors.)
The saying watch what they do, not what they say - that works a little differently with Trump - since he seems to do exactly what he says.
As a late middle aged person, I am supposed to know how this world works by now - and I don't - but I find I am learning a lot of brand new stuff just watching Trump.
