Well, its how we handle banking here in the US. Granted, this may not be for the OP and, like any shopper, they know their money is good at any other store on the street.

I can think of 195 different stores for them to shop at.

Systematic unfairness would be our intellectual property policies. What the federal reserve is doing really is counterfeiting pure and simple. Fractional reserve banks are committing fraud every time they lend out money that doesn't exist.
