While I agree with most of your points I believe you're misinformed or in a minority circumstance to think your taxes will go up.
Various deductions were eliminated, this is true. Including most notably the state tax and property tax deductions. But at the same time the standard deduction was doubled from $11,800 to $23,600. Most if not all of the removed deductions can fit under this now larger standard deduction umbrella leaving the taxes owed the same or less in most cases. The only people who will be hurt by this change are people who pay more than $11K or so in state and property taxes. The majority of these cases you'll only find in blue states where the taxes are high. This is a win for America at large as the previous arrangement had states with lower taxes essentially subsidizing the federal contribution to the states with higher taxes. It's also important to note that the states with those higher taxes also consume the largest amount of federal dollars through various welfare programs where the federal government matches state investment. The more the state collects the more it can spend on welfare which then draws more from the federal government which is funded by every taxpayer. Ergo, red states subsidizing the welfare of blue states.

Just to clarify, the standard deduction increased from $11,800 to $23,600 only for a married couple. It's ~ $6000 to $12,000 for a single individual.
