Bezos needs to go to prison for what's happened to the amazon tracking system . It worked great till a few weeks ago. Now it's totally fucked : It interprets the USPS's 'In transit to final destination' message as "out for delivery today" ; I have packages that have been marked Arriving Today by 8 PM for about a week , and now amazon is sending this inaccurate "tracking data" to my cell phone. Seriously, why do so many companies fix what ain't broken? And I live out in the middle of nowhere, so yeah, I pretty much DO have to use amazon, whether I like it or not, for quite a few things actually...
As for the actual thesis of the article : Right now, we have a (very) few media outlets not only censoring speech they don't like, they're happily doing so at the behest of a foreign government (Germany), because they think they can use Germany's "hate speech" crap to short-circuit the alt media which helped get Trump elected ; they can't stop that, but they're hoping to at least prevent his re election. If outlets like facebook, youtube, twitter, and now a retailer like amazon start buying up other news sources (WaPo), and trying to use them to create news and force election results they'd prefer...Yeah, that's a YUUUGE problem. How this can be contained and rolled back I do not know ; some have suggested regulating these outlets like monopolies because they're now in effect the "town square". Whether the cure would be worse than the disease I do not know.
