Tithing/donations to any church should not be taxed. If the church has any monetary investments or commercial enterprises, then it should absolutely be taxed at the same rate as everyone esle (but still not tithing or donations).

Edit: by "any church" I don't mean cults. I mean actual known and accepted religious organizations.

Christianity was a cult. Now it has tax free status. Still deserves to be taxed. Its a business that caters to its own people and virtue signals to get more shekels.

If we're going to make gifts non-taxable, we should do that for all institutions (family, charity, etc). There is nothing special about church in this regard, unless you believe government should incentivize religion rather than secular charities, or family lineages.
