I'm glad for discussion, but if you want to keep it civil, it would be best to not call people drones, on either side of the isle. Even if it's subtle or unintended that sort of talk from anyone is likely to lead to a little resentment and possible retaliatory comments which most likely wouldn't be in good taste.

No worries my friend. I think we're all a bit jaded from the harassment we all experienced at one point or another over at /r/politics. I'm socially liberal but I have no issue with people thinking different than I do. I just want open, civil discussion. Democrats and Republicans in Congress (for the most part) want nothing more than to see us all bickering with one another, while they all (for the most part) profit from their dirty politics. If the citizens of this country spent as much working towards a better form of representation, maybe something that blended our two ideologies together, as we did fighting and arguing online and in person, maybe this county would be a better place.
