I got as far as the 5th question and packed it in because I have very little interest in American politics and it really doesn't matter to me who wins the 2016 American Presidential election. I mean, I've got friends and family who live there that I'd feel a great deal of sympathy for if Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, or (gods forbid) Donald Trump ended up sitting in the Whitehouse - but other than that, meh.

Put me down as a generally left leaving non-authoritarian advocate of direct democracy.

Admittedly it is a bit US-centric, but so are most of the sub's content. If you don't mind it would still be a useful addition to the demographics statistics if you submitted it anyways and left all the American questions blank.

If I did that it would muddle the results would it not? The resulting data set would not be consistent if (potentially) multiple variables are not included yet are compared to data sets that include all data.

My intent was not (as /u/nomerasques indicated) to be intolerant, it was simply to point out that country specific questions in an international forum don't necessarily work. Had it been a more general set of questions I would have participated in a voatbeat.

It is fine, except for the gun control question. Even if you only consider the US, there are many different laws on gun control. I wouldn't vote to increase gun control in Germany because it is already pretty rigid.

Shorternet does raise a pretty decent point. Perhaps some international issues would be helpful. Although I'm not sure which issues would best measure political leanings. Anyway, poll's been made. Can't wait to see the results!
