This is no shit. My yearly deductible went from 300 a year to per person to 2000 a year per person....it was like not having insurance unless it was a major illness...

Same here. We have a family-owned small business and have purchased our own insurance for 20 years. We used to have less expensive insurance that paid for annual checkups and routine care, even if it didn't include dental or a co-pay for medications. Now we have more expensive insurance in case one of us has a heart attack or gets cancer. Everything else gets treated at home.

I'm going to be a great medical person if the world comes to an end: I spend lots of time on survivalist websites learning how to treat even the riskier stuff.

meanwhile the average subsaharran cannibal has full coverage, including dental and prescription drug... why is the government breeding disruptive unproductive subsaharran cannibals while ignoring European American families?

At least you know the Democrats hate you and want to shove you into bankruptcy. The Republicans claim they're your friends and then stab you in the back the minute you take your eyes off them.

Thats pretty much how the insurance you had before worked as well. Not defending Obamacare. Just saying, nothing has actually changed, all of that was true before this. If the poor had insurance, yours subsidized it. If they didnt, yours paid it when they showed up for care. And of course the profits went upstairs. Obamacare shuffled deck chairs on the Titanic we call healthcare in America.

Before obama care was anyone getting turned down at the hospital? The answer is no. Everyone was subsidizing those people going to the ER with a cold or whatever. Obamacare was a giant money grab scam that changed nothing and charged 400% more for it to anyone making more than 40k a year.

Technically the ACA redefined "rich" to 50k a year, meaning that subsidies would be cut off at those points. It also perma banned any "low" coverage healthcare plans, and mandated guaranteed coverage benefits per plan. The biggest issues were guaranteeing pregnancy coverage for male healthcare plans, or guaranteeing diabetes testing for people who had no known history of having said disease. As such, the ACA guaranteed that anyone on welfare, and very low income demographics(Predominantly minorities) would get free healthcare, and predominantly wealthy demographics(asians and whites) would get the bill. Lastly, the ACA guaranteed coverage, but did not impose price caps or price control mechanisms for those plans. This is also known as the healthcare death spiral, where more sick and unhealthy individuals join a plan than healthy, making single provider states and cities, forced to increase prices drastically to meet demand. Anyone could have told you this beforehand, but sadly those people were apparently right wing, satanic, baby munching, Hitler clones who wanted you and your family dead. And for those business owners, if you can't afford the 5000% price increase in costs, whilst increasing your minimum wage by 100%(7->15) and guaranteeing benefits, and giving people a descent cost of living adjustments, and 10 weeks paid vacation, etc, etc than as far as the left's vision of a utopia was concerned, you could get fucked and don't deserve to be in business(IRONICALY enough, the only companies who could afford doing that are mega corps, and in a realistic situation you would have priced all low cap, startups, mid caps, and medium caps out of the market. So much for locally owned stores)

Edit: missed a dot

Obamacare didn't shuffle the deck chairs. He threw a whole bunch of the deck chairs overboard.

I just want to stop subsidizing niggers and illegal immigrants with welfare stolen from my labor and from the mouths of my family.

Why is that so fucking hard to understand?

Everyone I know hates Obamacare and are complaining loudly.

They just don't have the soapbox of the media.

The only ones not complaining are the ones that pay nothing. I cant afford Obama care, and the doctors and hospitals charge my private insurance so much. That the co pay is what I would have paid without insurance.

Everyone I know hates Obamacare and are complaining loudly.

But polls also show:

  • most people don't really know what the ACA actually is
  • people broadly support all the "give me free shit" parts of the ACA; they only disagree with the part where we pay for it
  • if you rebrand the exact same policies as a republican proposal, much of the opposition goes away

People don't like the ACA because they don't like having to pay for the social benefits they voted for and support. This will continue until the end of time or until the republicans find a way to trick their base into supporting the same thing with the Trump label on it.

I csnt explain it. I have a two college educated friends both masters and they think universal health care is a right. And it's such a right that we should pay for it. U guys are going to say they were brainwashed by the colleges, nope small private school both of them. I tried to explain to one of them even if we fully funded universal health care its not going to solve poor uneducated peoples health issues. They will still make horrible life choices being fat drunk taking drugs not exercising we will just bankrupt the country prolonging their miserable lives by a year or two doing extreme procedures that will not even improve their quality of life. It's fucking retarded.

Thats why democracy should be abolished.

Every democracy dies when lazy fucks find out that they can simply vote for working people's money.

There is no personal responsibility anymore. If you're a fatass, you should be made to pay more, because you cost more. But no one who is poor is paying anything. So they continue to shovel manufactured garbage "foodstuffs" into their pie-holes without consequence . . .

I had to shit on a boomer at work because he was hating on Trump over the precondition argument. Told him - you had a government job with full benefits until you CHOSE to retire and start your own business. Who’s fault is it that NOW you have a preexisting condition?! Yours. You were set, then you chose to retire and start your own business. Why do I have to pay the bill for your condition that was covered until you retired?!

[–] Mylon 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

The cut-off for existing conditions is entirely arbitrary. If it was up to the free market, insurance providers would have payment caps per condition and then drop patients entirely. That would be just enough reason to purchase insurance while still being mostly worthless for expensive conditions. So with that said, why draw the line on pre-existing conditions at any point? Either diagnosis pre-insurance or post-insurance. Any line drawn is going to be one enforced by the state and thus paid for by other people.

If anything, this person starting their own business was doing you a favor by providing your community with better service, but he's getting punished for it. Thus the pre-existing condition clause is a net detriment to society.

Milton Freedman was absolutely correct when he said SUBSIDIES KILL THE FREE MARKET.

I would add Monopolies do the same.

The awsome part is we subsidize the monopolies half the time while trying to butt fuck the little guy right out of existence.
