There is no reason to get chipped. Look into beacons, ibeacon, geofencing, BTLE, and BLE technology. This micro tracking is already occurring by simply having your Bluetooth turned on and walking around with your phone. We are hardly without our phones, and many peripherals require us to have Bluetooth, and location on most of the time.

There is no privacy, especially for the average user.

Apple and Google are already working on indoor mapping in their upcoming iterations of their OS.

Our phones are our chips.

I leave bluetooth, wifi, and location software disabled. Not like that stops them from lifting data off of the cell tower connection, nor does anything to stop them from forcing them back on, but it foils the low hanging fruit attacks fairly well.
