You have to have an ID to buy beer, go to an R-rated movie, rent a hotel room, rent a car, get unemployment, receive welfare, sign a lease, or buy certain cold remedies.

Why the fuck would you not require an ID to vote?

Because requiring ID is racist. They complain that it costs money and minorities are just too poor. So some places give them away for free. Then they complain that it is too hard to get. Seriously, I saw someone complain that they could not get an ID with their work address on it since somehow they don't live at an address the post office delivers to. Pretty sure they don't accept Second Cardboard Box under the 12th Street Bridge but whatever. Somehow every poor motherfucker has an ID to buy booze and cigarettes though.

And they want it given free when you register to vote, but they don't want you to have to have anything to prove who you are when you register either. Because that would be racist since some people don't have proof of citizenship and it costs money to get it.

If you don't have a enough money or enough intelligence to get an ID, you shouldn't be voting

Because requiring ID is racist.

But that makes no sense: you need an ID to get welfare... and there's nothing more Negroid than consuming welfare!

Well, perhaps starving to death while surrounded by the world's most fertile farmlands is more Negroid... and perhaps eating albino babies to gain their voodoo powers... and inbreeding... and collecting ALL the STDs is more Negroid, but you know what I mean!

Even the poorest countries have national ID cards.

Lol for real? So glad I deleted that shit off my phone.

I delayed downloading the apps for almost 2 years, then deleted my whole account within a couple months when I finally broke down. The stress of having every.single.meme cause such problems with the libtards and normies... not to mention the damage that posting under my name was probably doing to my future job prospects!

You're preaching to the choir here. We all know this and so do the politicians. They (dems) don't want it for the obvious reason it would all but kill there advantage with voter fraud. So they pull the "it's racist" card and it seems to work. It needs to be made a Federal law so if you're voting in a federal election like president you need a VALID form of ID like a drivers license, passport, or state issued ID card. Can that be faked? Yup! But it would cut down on fraud by double digit percentages.

It is incredible this is not required at this point.

And USA dare to call themselves a democracy.

There is a reason why there is such a huge hole to prevent voter fraud. Wake up.

The USA is a republic, not a democracy.

It is probably easier to argue the opposite.

A republic is a state where people directly elect their leader (usually called a president.) However, the electoral college stops the USA from being a pure republic. Whether or not the US drifts significantly away from the definition of a republic is a judgement call.

Democracy encompasses a wide variety of systems but usually means that one elects political representatives. In the US both judges, senators and representatives in congress are elected. That said there is often poor voter turnout.

Only for some things on the left. If you're 40 years old and look it you can probably get an apartment, buy booze, and buy cigarettes. Among others.

Hell before Dodd Frank you probably didn't even need an ID for a 700k mortgage.

Having a national ID is a horrible idea. If you're going to have people voting, you should definitely substantiate that they're eligible voters... however, don't fall for the trick of them offering some supposed solution that creates a much worse problem.

Government can't be entrusted with this amount of power. Eliminate entitlements, end prohibition/black markets, and restrict government to its Constitutional limits, and this isn't a problem.

Government is the disease posing as the cure.

Voting laws are by state and rightfully so but be wary of those that start pushing for a national ID. Far beyond the centralized bs that is in place now.

So when does what we want enter into what our government actually does? Save America, nuke DC.

"Criminal disenfranchisement" exception always gets me. Take 14th amendment section 2: how is it fare on even a national level that a state may count felons or even lesser criminals towards their representative allotment while also taking away that same bloc's right to vote?

Disclaimer: I'm not impacted myself, but I fully believe felon voting disenfranchisement should under no circumstances be lawful. To me, that practice can be reduced to nothing more than discrimination based on social status.

I take it a step farther..to register to vote one should demonstrate ability to read and write English and do simple math at a 3rd grade level..

Nah, only landowners should vote. Renters be damned. Black people 2/3rds. #MAGA

I'd take it a step further and suggest a test of basic civics, arithmetic, and logical reasoning. But when I make the suggestion in polite company, I get accused of being literally Comcast.

No ID? Just vote by mail. I've been doing it for years.
