But it is with pride and acknowledgment of the effort put forth despite the odds that Texans say "Remember the Alamo." Though Texas lost the battle at the Alamo, word of the courageous troops' fate spread like wildfire and resulted in the Texian Army recruiting sufficient forces to win the Battle of San Jacinto, ending the revolution.

200 Texans killed 1200 Mexican soldiers. Lost a battle that helped to win the war. It was the Texan Battle of Thermopylae.
