When will Californians secede from California?
[–] gemini02 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
It's the fucking California Nurses Association pushing this shitty agenda. They are front and center and want to take all the credit. Why? I have no idea. But a $400B price is almost double the state budget. And do you think the current federal administration will keep pumping in millions in medicare $$? I would hope not. I'd hope the federal gov't would say fine, you want to take this on yourself, good luck. As a CA resident, I'm totally against this. I don't want my taxes paying for illegals and lazy people who refuse to work but want it all for free. I'm good with helping out the poor, elderly, and handicap, but if you're illegal or just leeching off society, you can fucking die for all I care.

81% of us californians are happy with our coverage. No thanks.

Most people were happy with their coverage before Obamacare passed, too. It didn't stop them from fucking up the entire healthcare system even more than they already had.

Use to live in third world California. Will never go back. Gets crazier and crazier everyday.

This is awesome - it won't pass, but if somehow they shame the state govt into passing it, California is absolutely fucked.

'A proposal to adopt a single-payer healthcare system for California took an initial step forward Thursday when the state Senate approved a bare-bones bill that lacks a method for paying the $400-billion cost of the plan. '
'The bill, which now goes to the state Assembly for consideration, will have to be further developed, Lara conceded, adding he hopes to reach a consensus on a way to pay for it. '
'Under a single-payer plan, the government replaces private insurance companies, paying doctors and hospitals for healthcare. '
'Republican senators opposed the bill as a threat to the state’s finances.“We don’t have the money to pay for it,” Sen. '
