Its authoritarian, its censorship, its propaganda, its underhanded political manipulation, however it is not fascism.

Words mean things, fascism doesn't just mean "bad."

It is a specific form of government, that includes far more than just state control of media.

Please god stop raping the fuck out of the English language.

Ive got a very basic understanding of the word fascism, and ive looked into it more than most people probably would have. Which is why i would love it if they had explained what it was rather than just saying "this is what it isnt".

"Book burning" alone is a pretty good image of fascism which is why i can see its application in the case of the ops, and also in the case of the regressive left.

I guess it is more than that when it describes a mode of government, but it doesnt mean 'anything less than a full government model' is a prohibited use of the term fascist.

fascism doesn't just mean "bad."

That's arguable, I'll admit, but it's hardly ever been attached to anything good. Also, what gives anyone the right to rule, non-voluntarily, over another person?

it's hardly ever been attached to anything good.

There was that time Hitler was almost successful, but you're right, him losing the war was a bad thing and tainted the word.

The right to rule is usually taken, not given.

Yeah, fascism is in theory and practice pretty unequivocally awful.

However, it a very specific form of "bad."

All fascism is bad, but not all bad things are fascist.

And I'd say nothing gives anyone that right, morally speaking.

I'm advocating for honest, accurate speech and avoiding hysterical sensationalism, not fascism itself.

1) History is always redacted by the victors, was pinochet a fascist ? Some would say yes ? Was his regime bad ? Definitely if you happened to be leftarded, but in the end, he saved his country, if hitler succeeded he would be regarded as a hero, because in the end, everything is excusable when seen from the standpoint of the result

2) What gives anyone the right to rule, non-voluntarily, over another person? The result, I guess.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augusto_Pinochet#Accusations_of_Fascism

Although he was authoritarian and ruled dictatorially, Pinochet's support of neoliberal economic policies and his unwillingness to support national businesses distinguished him from classical fascists.[93]
