Probably because the alternative is we, the fucking taxpayer, pay to hold the trial, pay for the public defender to argue with the AG, then the jailing, then the for the sentencing hearing, then for two years minimum of federal prison.
Sure seems like the cheaper option.

Funny how when a thing starts working properly that you realize how long you put up with gimped performance, and how gimped that performance actually was.
I get the feeling this won't be the last example of this phenomenon regarding Obama-gimped government processes.
