Citizens over 18 who bother to register and get themselves to the polls on election day. I do not think registration should happen at the DMV. I do not think voting should happen over a prolonged period prior to the actual election day. Absentee voting should only be allowed legitimate inability to go to the polls, such as proof one will be out of the country.
Registering to vote should be a pain in the ass and so should voting. That would help restrict it to people who are actually invested in the process.
To be honest, I would not have a problem with restricting it to real property owners, but I don't think we really need to do anything that radical.
