Now consider this.
While the missiles were striking the Syrian airfield, President Trump and President Xi Jinping were dining together at Mar-a-Lago... discussing trade and the North Korea nuclear arms problem.
I'd bet President Trump let President Xi Jinping know... between dinner and desert and an exploding Syrian airfield, that if China doesn't solve the North Korea problem then he will... and China may not like how that turns out!
Unfortunately 7 Syrians died during the airfield missile strike, however what President Trump may have achieved was to send a message to the world that he won't be fucked with, that he'll sort the shit-out-of North Korea if China doesn't.
Given Putin's soften stance about defending Assad over the past few days, I suspect President Trump's response was carefully discussed with Russia too.
Also, let's not pretend that Assad isn't a piece of shit: I don't think he should be overthrown, however he sure as fuck isn't an innocent Muslim.
