I grew up through the Cold War. I remember the nuke attack drills in elementary school where we huddled under our desks. Radio dials had the two Conelrad radio stations marked on the dial. I wanted to be a rocket/electrical engineer so I eagerly read reports of our missile tests and satellite launches. The reliability of our liquid-fuel missiles was horrible and my gestimate was fewer than 25% would ever reach their targets. Solid-fuel rockets like Polaris and Minuteman were much more reliable.
While N. Korea could take out maybe one city the odds are that all they will do is blow up a chunk of the Pacific Ocean or have a spectacular air burst. I believe POTUS Trump ought to use the N. Korea missile launches for target practice and shoot them down as soon as it leaves N. Korean airspace.
