Conservatives to Starbucks: "Fuck Off"

The damage has been done. I've stopped drinking that shitty excuse for coffee long ago. Support local coffee.

Fuck that, I just make my own now. Amazon sells a portable espresso shot maker that kicks ass.

Why would conservatives want to hang out with a bunch of liberals? They would be outnumbered twenty to one in Starbucks. Crackerbarrel, Waffle House, and Hardys are where you should hang out if you want to hang with the conservatives. Look for places where most of the customers are wearing NASCAR hats and the pickup trunks outnumber cars in the parking lot.

I would love a pickup trunk, but where the hell am I going to get sapient pear wood?

Cracker Barrel is the most implicitly white restaurant in America and it is amazing! Rocking chairs out front. 99% white. Open fireplace. Wear an NRA t-shirt and you'll get head nods. Cracker Barrel is the shit!

So people supporting Middle Eastern regimes by driving gas hogs are conservative? Seems weird.

Their coffee's not even that good. It's burned beans with a ton of caffeine. The biggest mistake Starbucks made with all of this, was it got people talking about the actual quality of their coffee, and it got them to drink it from other places. And once you leave the fake "Starbucks is the best coffee ever" ecosystem, where you only drink Starbucks, it's just not good. It's overpriced and doesn't taste as good unless they drown out the burnt beans with sugar.

It's always better to stop at a smaller coffee shop instead of the giant monolithic chain that is Starbucks. You know, the big chains that liberals go to when they go to talk about how bad big businesses are, as they walk past small business coffee shops to get to Starbucks.

I can't recommend highly enough buying a $20 coffee bean grinder and a good $10 french press and making 5 cups worth of coffee when you make your morning coffee and bring the rest to work in a thermos.

That coffee will be awesome - it won't need sugar and all you'll need is to put a carton of milk in your work fridge and nuke you mug to warm it up a bit.

Mega-cheap, mega-strong and pure awesome!

Some people buy lunch and coffee each day, but if you just pack a healthy sandwich and bring your own coffee, you will save a small fortune every month!

Protip: buy a stainless steel press. I say this after having to sweep up three glass presses.

Jesus: I will do!

I've never lost a press, but broken glass on the kitchen floor is sure as fuck not welcome before I've had coffee!

Give the Espro Press a shot. It's pricier, but the double filter keeps more sludge out.

Also - /v/coffee could use some action. Come post your thoughts if you pick up something different.

I got an Aeropress. Life is much more magical now. Small batches, but easy cleanup and amazing coffee. Not a paid advertisement

My wife likes maple syrup. The only things I like in my coffee are caffeine and hate.

That's a great suggestion, however I try to no consume sugar, especially in the morning: I find a vegetarian, low carb, low-GI diet makes me feel fresh and clean... especially after a morning run.

Drink your coffee black. That way, when the shit hits the fan and the economy collapses, and there isn't cream or sugar, your jimmies won't be rustled like everyone else trying to adjust.

Try agave syrup too. It's equally as good as honey.

[–] heili 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

I bought a roaster and a burr grinder. I make my own coffee at home in a drip pot and bring it to work in my Yeti where I drink it black. Only way to fly.

I like my coffee very strong, but I find very strong black coffee tastes great but makes me feel nauseous shortly afterwards.

I'm not sure why. Have you ever experienced that? 'Not after medical advice, but just curious if other people have the same problem.

Cold brew decanter.

Add grounds to filter, add water, steep for 24 hours. Pour into thermos with ice, rinse out grounds from cold brew filter and refill for tomorrow. Great taste and less effort than a French press.

Could even steep with 2-3x the grounds and dilute so you only have to do it once every 2-3 days.

All the fucks on the board that let this guy do his thing and said nothing are still there. He isn't even fired he just isn't the president. If you think for a second anyone here changed a damn thing in their heart or culture you are a fool. Fuck off Starbucks your coffee sucks and you are dead to me as a company.

Sure. Just stop supporting homosexual "marriage" and "trans" rights, take the "no firearms" signs down, quit shelling out money to Planned Parenthood, oh, and quit serving coffee that tastes like a sewer.

Nah man thats their buiness model that waht made them big.

[–] lemon11 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

To be fair, it wasn't total sewage when they first made it big nationally. This was some time before the "Tazo" tea era, when they thought they could do tea better than "Republic of Tea" (hint: they couldn't) and lost much business because of that. Their coffee back then was at least two large noticeable degrees less carbonized than it is now.

Not that it could compete with most diners, even then, though.

I asked this in earnest last time and I got two answers, Dunkin Donuts and Seattle's Best (starbucks subsidary): other than the mention of roasting your own, what is a good brand of coffee to drink?

Wait are you saying corporations should stay the fuck out of politics less it hurt thier bottom line, imagine that.

0

[–] Gorillion 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago  (edited ago)

It's incredibly retarded that no major brands even attempted to play on the political divisions as part of their strategy. Have the ads feature hardliners on both sides chill the fuck out for long enough to enjoy a tasty meal at Restaurant X or whatever the fuck. Then get back to arguing as soon as they leave. "Because everyone deserves a time out" or some such shit. It's clear that the internal cultures of these corporations just didn't allow one fucking iota of "give" regarding Trump supporters or anti-Hillary groups.

[–] HeavyBrain 0 points 15 points (+15|-0) ago

Who would have guessed that pissing off 50% of our potential customers who also happens often to have their own independent money could be negative for business.

No but seriously, big companies play often both sides of the PR and you have to admit they are good at it, so my question is how the fuck cant the fucks at Starbucks figure out that the PCism crazy inst here to last infact is already in decline.

What's funny is Starbucks is on most Army posts. I personally just can't go to one because of their political activism even when there are no other options available. The one time I tried I felt like a total sellout cuckold just standing in line and why would I do that for shitty coffee? In the past I used to buy their cold coffee drinks at the convenience store, not anymore, now I grab the dunkin donuts brand or something else entirely. I just can't buy their products, it wasn't even a really a decision where I decided to boycott, I just read news and politics and now just associate their brand with the batshit crazy left. Judging by how empty most of their locations are on the various Army posts I frequent I am not alone.
