Because he's another DNC crony. How do you think he keeps getting elected as an independent? He's been making backroom deals with the DNC: they screw over their own party's candidates for his seat every election, he keeps caucusing with them. He's the most partisan member of the Senate, voting with the Democrats nearly all of the time. WikiLeaks exposed how he sold out all his supporters early in the primaries for a new beach house and a few rides on a private jet. Anyone who actually believed that the pro-big-government career politician was an "outsider" is as naive as it gets.
