China is catching up to us in technology, now they are threatening our position as the sole super power.

Good job Clinton, Bush & Obama. Lets prop up more communist nations!

I wouldn't really consider China communist. The fact that they allow companies to exist kind of throws that whole communism thing out the window. They are a totalitarian regime that seems to have embraced free market economics in many instances. Side note, their corporate tax rates are lower than the US.

Catch up? Maybe?

Surpass? No. You can't surpass someone who's homework you're copying.

Also, remember how everyone was touting this as "The Chinese Century" a few years back? It's because they were already invested in that becoming a reality. The same way "Hillary will be the next POTUS" was such a sure fire thing. Now Hollywood can't disengage from them quickly enough. Keep an eye out for further public dis-entanglements indicating further severing of non-public entanglements behind closed doors. Whatever the Clintons gave them will be valueless in a few years, because Hillary isn't there to protect it's on-going value.

That's why the whole 'Russia' thing is pretty funny. Everyone needs to look up the 1996 US campaign finance controversy. It goes beyond just selling secrets to the Chinese as well. People who criticize Clintons trade policy and how it relates to manufacturing often discuss NAFTA and just ignore the other elephant in the room. Bill Clinton put enormous diplomatic pressure on the world trade organization to admit China as a member. Some on the WTO were reluctant because they knew China's economic policies and currency manipulation would be disastrous. Given all the context of what happened later it seems as if the minor amount of.money the Chinese government spent helping the DNC is the best deal anyone has ever gotten in history.
