Make Marijuana Legal Again. Trump completely flopped on this one, America is done with marijuana prohibition, he's made himself look like a troglodyte and a hypocrite.

Trumps government are mostly old men who don't know about the health benefits of weed. Campaign for it, if you care for it then.

[–] redsedfred 2 points 3 points (+5|-2) ago

LOL! More Trumpgrets. He's continuing to break campaign promises. Don't hold your breath. Trump's coming after your weed.

[–] cointelpro_shill 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

[–] Pwning4Ever 2 points 1 points (+3|-2) ago

Nah, I think Trump is just playing the hardliners in his party (evangelicals) just like he did with make mexico pay for the wall.

Trump doesn't give two shits if you smoke weed, i know it, you know it, everybody knows it.

[–] weezkitty 0 points 15 points (+15|-0) ago

It's time to change federal law. And reschedule marijuana. No potential medical use? Bullshit. The drug war has been a failure....and it is part of the reason we have Mexican traffickers. End it already.

[–] belrial 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Then it looks like 71% of the people need to contact their senator and representative to get Federal law changed.

[–] meowmix56 1 points 5 points (+6|-1) ago

I don't care if stoners are the impetus, I am just happy that more people are respecting the concept of states rights.

[–] Rurntis 3 points 0 points (+3|-3) ago

Except Trump apparently.

People freaking out about this are pretty funny. Read this entire thing and you will see why nothing has happened.

1 Read the 10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

2 Interstate commerce is really the only exception to this. Its the reason you will not find Marijuana shipping from CO to CA for example, even though they could ship medical through Nevada according to state law. Its also why marijuana businesses do not put their money into federally insured interstate banks.

3 Here are the things the DEA is concerned with according to their own website.

  1. Preventing of distribution of marijuana to minors;

  2. Preventing revenue from the sale of marijuana from going to criminal enterprises, gangs or cartels;

  3. Preventing the diversion of marijuana from states where it is legal under to state law in some form to other states;

  4. Preventing state-authorized marijuana activity from being used as a cover or a pretext to traffic other illegal drugs or other illegal activity;

  5. Preventing violence or the use of firearms in cultivation and distribution of marijuana;

  6. Preventing drugged driving and the exacerbation of other adverse public health consequences associated with marijuana use;

  7. Preventing the growing of marijuana on public lands and the attendant public safety and environment dangers posed by marijuana production on public lands;

  8. Preventing marijuana possession or use on federal property.

As you see, legal states aren't going to violate the DEA's stance. Also, the DEA is not enumerated in the Constitution. It is an entity under the Executive branch. So they cannot create law, then enforce it since they have no legislative powers. They can make rules all they want, but they wont hold up if they try to enforce their rules as law. Anything they do must also get cleared by the Judicial branch. Despite what talking heads say, separation of power exists very much. The only exception are the Judges trying their best to redefine law, thereby "legislating from the bench". That does need to be fixed, but that is because individual judges do not respect the Constitution, and instead inject their opinions. Just like the court that overturned the 7 Country vetting EO Trump signed.

4 Also, if 2/3 of the states in the US ratify a law, that triggers article 5 which means the constitution will be amended to match the law passed by those 2/3 of states applying it nationwide. Then you would see some states actually trying to find ways of making it illegal, which would work about as well as them trying to outlaw guns (worst case scenario).

5 On top of all this, nothing in the Constitution, which is the only real thing binding the states together in the first place gives the fed the power to define plants as illegal. I know this goes against a lot of what people were taught, but it is the law of the land.

MANY in trumps cabinet do NOT like marijuana, BUT they also believe that the Constitution is the most important thing in our country, and they are right. Any Constitutional Conservative will tell you that state law supersedes federal law unless the power is specifically granted by the Constitution, OR, they are conducting interstate commerce in that category. THAT would be illegal.

Pollution for example falls under interstate commerce because the rivers and air go into other states, so they are able to be regulated because if they werent responsible, other states would suffer. Since people transporting marijuana from a legal state to a non legal state are already breaking state and federal law, that is regulated already.

6 Citizenship, which has been a big topic lately IS regulated by the Constitution. That is why the fed has final say over immigrants, and local laws cannot supersede that because they agreed to ALL the laws in the constitution when they joined the United States. NOT just the ones they want to enforce no matter what they argue or say.

Its confusing to some, but not actually too complicated if you read up on it. Any over zealous actions by the DEA would not hold up in court. Some dipensary's have been raided, but the reasons above are why they just reopen again. Many cases they violate some small technicality like putting their money ibn a bank, buying marijuana illegally produced, knowingly selling to someone from out of state, or other technicalities.

These are all mute points though. In the not too distant future we will cross the 34 state threshold.

7 These reasons are also why when prohibition passed, they passed the 18th amendment. When it was repealed they passed the 21st. Without those amendments they didn't have the power. They could have created any Federal un-elected bureaucrat alphabet agency they wanted, and they still would not have had the power to stop people from drinking.

8 If the fed tried to get a vote to amend the constitution right now to make marijuana illegal, it would backfire and they would end up making it legal according to the current numbers. This is why they basically are just holding tight.

Trump and many other officials may not like this all that much, but they do fully respect the LAW. So be ready, because legal weed is here to stay, and will be spreading, not being cracked down on despite what the Libtards fear mongering in the MSM might say, or dumb as Republican that care less about people, and only about their agendas. There may be sound bytes people put out of they are going to do this or that, but its nothing more than rhetoric. Cali has had medicinal for over 20 years now.

The only problem we are really facing that is a huge constitutional crisis are rouge judges, and states who think they can selectivly follow the constitution on things like immigration. Whether you agree or not, letting them get away with those things that may not seem huge, would literally break the Constitution. Once one part of it does not need to be followed, we might as well light it on fire.

I dont know about everyone else, but I am an American 1st, and I believe in the Constitution even if it is not perfect. I believe it is the best. I am 100% for absolute enforcement of it across the board. Otherwise we are heading down a road that will slowly keep tearing apart the Bill of Rights. This is the EXACT problem that Trump is trying to fix by getting in Conservative judges. That exact reason is why Marijuana cannot be made illegal when the people of a state have voted to make it legal. Once enough judges are in that actually follow the law, many things that should not currently be in place will slowly be dismantled. That's the entire point of what POTUS is trying to accomplish. Its why fighting the stupid protester is extremely important. They only care about the laws they like, NOT the ones other people like. That's what we are supposed to be protected from by the Constitution itself. If they could, the Libtard crazy protesters would burn the Constitution along with their American flags they like to burn so much. They are just to stupid to realize that is EXACTLY what they are arguing for, the power for the government, or large crowds of idiots to take away whatever right they don't like.

All of you who say you dont like marijuana, but are Americans who respect the law, remember what you are arguing for. Same goes to all the Libtards trying to infringe on the rights of others.

Trump administration needs to make other things a priority not this. Weed shouldn't even be on the radar.

[–] Cat-hax 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

My only problem with legal weed is retards smoking it well driving, which seems to happen every day where I live.

[–] Inaminit 1 points 1 points (+2|-1) ago

I don't believe he'll come down as hard as all that, guys... Medical has it's merits by the will of the people and the science backs them up.
