Would you use the same argument to legalize child pornography or are you a hypocrite?

It's not rape once sex with children is legal.
Decriminalizing drugs to destroy the cartels is like making sex with children legal to destroy child rapists. You, of course, accomplish your goal, but "defeating" crime by making it legal kind of defeats the point.
And yes, it's possible to argue that both doing drugs and having sex with children is a completely normal thing to do and shouldn't be illegal to begin with. That's not what I was trying to show, I wanted you to see that your argument of legalizing crime is flawed.
If something is illegal, there are reasons for it. If you can show that all the reasons do not apply anymore, you'd have better arguments.
Personally, I think drugs should be available to anyone who can get a license for them. Like driving a car, doing drugs doesn't only affect yourself, so people doing drugs should have to prove, that they can handle the responsibility. Regulating is always better than outlawing stuff. Though, like with child porn, there may be valid reasons to opt for a ban.
