The estimated annual cost of illegal immigrants is $113 billion... perhaps some of those huge savings can go towards paying workers a few dollars extra?
It used to be common for students to pick fruit and veg during their break to earn some cash... and the sky didn't fall.
California has a huge homeless problem: perhaps they'd like to have a job?
Also, ignoring crime because of "fruit and veges" is retarded.

It was common for kids to pick strawberry's in 1970's that practice was banned some 30+ years ago, child labor laws, .... much to think about there, but honestly being in the strawberry biz, I can tell you most growers want the Mexicans, as they come in on time, get the work done, and stay until its done. The student by definition, can't work more than 8 hours a day, and certainly can't work from 5am->5am 24/7;
IMHO kids picking fruit is a lot like kids selling lemonade, its been gov banned for so long now that it ain't coming back.

Wow - these Mexican criminals sound awesome!
Makes me wonder why Mexico is such a shit hole and why awesome Mexicans don't Make Mexico Great Again?
Also, young adult college students picking fruit for cash is popular is just about every civilized country.
No - the sky won't fall because laws are enforced. You'll still get your yummy apples and the world will keep on spinning.
