You know the best example of a place where guns save lives: By nobody having them this potential mass shooting wouldn't have happened.

I live in the UK, and the ideological self masturbation regarding the effects of guns in America is a little, worrying. Because here's the thing, due to the fact that I (And the rest of the western world), live in a civilized country, we don't have to worry about mass shootings, we don't have to worry about trigger happy police (Or heck, the police don't have to be worried about the trigger happy population), we don't have to worry that any crime may instantly turn deadly. Also don't have to worry about healthcare because it's free, but that's aside from the point.

The point is the rest of the western world has managed to work out that less guns is a good thing, and instead America looks at the successes there and goes "NAH, I WUNNA SHUUT THUNGSSAKDSLKDSKLDSASDL! MURICA! FUCK YEA!"

it's so much better to get stabbed, it feels like civilization.

Anyone who is legit afraid of being shot in a mass shooting has just been brainwashed by fear mongers. There is, statistically, no actual chance of this happening to you. Your chance of being shot or injured by a police officer; however, are astronomically higher. It really bothers me how people don't look at the actual rates of mass shootings/tewowism in respect to the population overall. Its negligible and fear is simply fueled by hysteria and sensationalist fear mongering.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that your violent crime shot up hand-in-hand with the disarmament of your civilians.

It's true, you worry less about mass shootings. of course you have to put up with more rape and the odd soldier getting his head cut off in broad daylight in the middle of the street while the unarmed civilians shout "won't someone do something!".

The UK has banned guns. And kitchen knifes. They've put cameras up on every street, and in a few people's bedrooms (just bad people's though). They've taken the demands of every harpy SJW and made it law. The UK is a nanny fucking state where they will soon be teaching people how to wipe their asses, blow their noses, jerk off, and adjust their burkas.

If you want to give an example, the UK is the wrong place to use. They are almost universally seen as a joke, cowed and coddled.

Nope, nice try bitch.

The homicide rate in America is 4.7 times higher per capita, rape levels are similar. The vast majority of cameras are privately owned, and there's literally nothing about cameras inside people's bedrooms. Knives are only banned in public for none good reasons (It basically only covers people who are dumb enough to state they own the knife to only stab people with).

As for terrorist attacks, America has had 189 casualties on American soil since 1990 (Ignoring 9/11 which we'll discount due to it being a huge outlier). 21 people in the UK have been killed by terrorist attacks on UK soil since this point, the vast amjority by the IRA during the 90's (Note: 56 deaths were recorded during the 7/7 attacks, however again this is a outlier in terms of data.). Even taking into account the population difference, an American is 80% more likely to be killed in a terrorist attack.

Even better, if we look at number of people the police have killed in either country, the police have had people in their contact killed 1514 times since 1990. The vast majority of these were while in custody, or during a pursuit. The police in America take a mere two years to shoot that many people.

They are almost universally seen as a joke, cowed and coddled.

No, that's called America
