This General does not agree that NATO is obsolete.
He wants to adapt and revamp some parts. That does not mean NATO is obsolete and it is certainly not a concession

Anytime we're paying 70% and getting maybe 20% of the benefit, the agreement and possibly the organization is obsolete. Post war, it made sense, but now every single one of those countries has single payer healthcare and as a country we can't even maintain infrastructure.

Exactly. I get so tired of hearing Europeans bitch about the US when they have great welfare and we have a great military that directly enables their standard of living. Then they laugh at us and call us barbaric for our wars and lack of welfare programs.

it is dog. today more than ever nato lost its meaning. and thats proved by the factual military situation around the world in present. what that mf did there was a political act. it was just like what i said nato is for a long long loooong time ago, a political and economical pressure organization used by certain power cells from the west against some states inside the eu/nato alliance to gain diverse things(especially economical). the rest is bullshit for retards. on the other hand its understandable cause nato..... its so much to explain here at least from the perspective that the nato word has a distortioned sense in the media.... practically most of the interests made nato to be actually an european army allied with basically usa and their interests were very different on many aspects. on one hand it was mainly like a marriage forcefully kept for the eyes of the world while in its essence was rotten as fuck.

I don't care what your opinion is, I was pointing out the fact that the general did not say NATO itself is obsolete.
