I don't go to baseball games, but sports stadiums are a unique case. The majority of attendees identify as male, so it makes sense to create a separate line. What about, in the future, creating a third option, similar to "family" restrooms, where any gender can go? This way there are fewer children running around unattended in restrooms (which will make queue times in the women's room faster), and it creates a gender neutral option at these high volume events? I'm not saying mandate that every stadium be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up to create equal spaces for all individuals to pee without being harassed. I'm talking about in the future.
What was your point about how you enjoyed hanging out in a restroom? Are you implying that this is common?

Family rest rooms are a great idea. I always appreciate when they are available. It helps with traffic flow for both the gendered restrooms and coordination with children.
Gender neutral restrooms work work well for low traffic. I just don't see the differences in usage patterns making it efficient for higher volume.
My point wasn't that it's common but that women tend to not just groom but hang out in their restrooms

I'll admit that sometimes women will talk for a few minutes in a restroom while grooming. (I hate saying "hanging out in a restroom"). I've never seen women who are talking in a restroom stay in there when other people need to use the mirror/sink. If other people need the space, they mosey along. And I don't think that this social space has more value than the discomfort caused by only having binary-gendered restrooms. I think, as you said, in low traffic locations (or even most restaurants), this will work. Good discussion. :) Thanks for helping me see your side.
