The younger generations are under-armed. Homes without dads are so much more frequent this generation than in prior, and many of them are unarmed. It's a sad situation unless we can reverse that trend.

... No, no, that's wrong. You and @FuckYourSafespace apparently haven't been paying attention to how the gun culture is changing!

Most of the younger generation are better armed because of the "high speed, low drag" tacticool culture that's popular with two major groups of people: action film enthusiasts and video gamers. They don't want surplus rifles, they want military-looking stuff, they want plate carriers, they go out and take tactical courses, and they're the ones who have grown up in a world where they never had an opportunity to take their rights for granted. Those rights have been under assault for most of their lives.

Most Millennials, (62% and growing last time I looked) aren't in favor of gun control and are becoming increasingly impatient with the narrative pushed by the MSM and government. Oh and the fastest growing group of gun owners are young women. I'll let you both chew on that for awhile and consider the implications there, especially with the number of single mothers out there.

Additionally many parts of the DIY and maker communities are sharply twisting toward gun ownership when traditionally these people shied away from firearms for a variety of reasons, partially because it's been a "Republican" thing for so long. Also related is the hacker community (big overlap) who are realizing their 1st and 4th Amendment concerns are tightly intertwined with the 2nd Amendment.

Gun ownership is not going anywhere in this country.

Very true, unfortunately. Red-pill them, remind them that the bullshit thats going on here is just stepping stones towards being the "best Korea" and the Second Ammendment is the insurance policy held by We the People. Plus, protection against criminals. Bonus link to ClassicFirearms, which has a bunch of new and relic firearms for sale, plenty of which are affordable.
