That's a lie. Bigotry definitely helped Trump get elected: the left's bigotry towards working class Americans. Hillary's deplorables statement is the prime example of that. On the other hand, I can partially agree with the article in that the offensive things the Trump said (like the whole pussy-grabbing incident) only hurt him because it made the MSM give him tons of negative coverage.
