I remember a time when people would upvote you for taking the time to state your opposing argument, not down vote you for disagreeing with it.

If more people were willing to engage opposing veiws rather than blindly dismissing them it would go along way to finding a solution to the current polluarising political climate.

That's what I've noticed about the internet. I've always seen it as an opportunity for everyone to exchange ideas and philosophies in a way that would otherwise be more difficult. Where all of our ideas and beliefs are up for debate in the hopes of obtaining the most pragmatic and sensible solutions.

Instead, people create these little bubbles and have nodding competitions.

People take their beliefs so personally. Nothing will change until people crucify their egocentric mindsets.
