I sort of doubt that, but I'm willing to change my mind in light of real evidence (it's not like I offered any either).

Edit - here's a 6 year old article that shows 86% of us are skipping ads. My hunch is to say, in 2016, that number is higher, not lower. The Guardian - TV advertising skipped by 86% of viewers

There a lot of old people out there, man. They vote in higher concentrations than most younger demographics. I don't know why you would doubt that a lot of people still watch TV just because young and middle aged people don't as often anymore.

I don't doubt old people do watch tv more and may not skip ads, but it doesn't change the fact that very few people are actually seeing these political ads. Further, my guess is they (the alleged old people watching these ads) aren't pretending like Hillary's ads awesome they way this article tries to make it out to be.
