I too have held a TS and have had clearances all my adult life ... and I can't even conceive of how this has happened! It's an outrage and we need someone to compile an endless list of the names of those lives who have been forever ruined, some losing their freedom, others losing all they worked for all their lives for much, much lesser offenses. This is shocking and I can only hope the American people will stand up and say enough is enough ... government corruption is out of control and now highly visible for anyone with a brain to see.

Just a note on Petraeus in the source:

He gave 'worse' classified intel (quotes from meetings, talking to the president, military strategy and operative names) to ONE person. That intel hasn't reached the public until this day. Clinton gave, objectively seen, only lighty classified intel knowingly to a few selected people without the proper clearance which caused the ENTIRE WORLD to know about that intel.

So, in some weird way, causing information to be leaked to foreign intelligence agencies is okay? Something needs to slam into the American political system. Beeing a rich & well connected politician DOES NOT put you above the law in a western democracy!

Me three, broski. I have seen much worse happen to much better for much less of an honest mistake, or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hey man, I've never driven a car or even been on a road, but I don't understand what the big deal is about going 75mph through a school zone. So someone was driving a little faster than they should - it just sounds completely blown out of proportion to me.

People who have never dealt with classified information saying what Hillary did "wasn't a big deal" piss me off so much.

How true. Anyone who's ever held a clearance knows. That's what makes this so offensive to so many who lived by the rules.

Well, time to go all Edward Snowden! Be the revolutionary! Be the man (or woman) who brings down corruption at the highest level! The time to take action is now.

No, this is only the start. Unless you're going to reveal enough information to completely destroy US relations with the rest of the planet, it's timed for an armed revolution. We have seen that politicians and agencies are now so corrupt that they have no fear of the law. They have no respect for the law. They have no respect for the US. They have no fear of the law whatsoever so it's time to show them what the 2nd Amendment is really for.

Seriously, until we can start hanging corrupt politicians, things will only get worse. At a minimum, politicians should be held to a higher standard with more serious, real consequences. Otherwise, unethical behavior will continue to just be par for the course.

On the bright side, this confirms to those didn't want to fully believe and pushes Trump's rhetoric of the entire system being rigged; which will undoubtedly draw countless supporters.

the bright side

Those people are incapable of receiving that message. Your comment does not make things OK nor does it mean you're "going back to your normal life." You're under attack you fool.

Have a winner's attitude.

There are still a lot of people on the fence, I've managed to convince at least two or three myself, which in the grand scheme of things isn't many... But it's something.

Not a winners attitude but one of a warrior. Warriors know how to fight and plan for losing battles as well as winning them, Winners only plan to win and nothing else.

Or rule of law. Now it's just a matter of not getting caught by anyone with bigger guns.

Don't forget the lobbyists and the heads of businesses that rely on governmment to make a living because they can't compete in the market.

Do you have any idea how much the business world would collectively shit their pants if a CEO were assassinated because of their political pushes into getting their way?

You could smell that shit storm from outer space.

I've always viewed politicians as expendable. If Aliens invade im handing them our politicians to eat first. The aliens will probably get indigestion and diarrhea though :(

if aliens invaded the politicians with power would be the ones who decide who dies first, not you.

This won't do anything other then ending in arrests, bloodshed, and people hating you. Protest peacefully. Vote regularly. Get involved with the political process.

that has worked so well for the followers of every non-corrupted politician in US history, hasn't it? Even at the local level it is difficult to get elected without being a piece of shit.

That time is over, the time for action is now. If a few unquestionably sane and honorable, fervently patriotic martyr's lead, many will surely follow.

I, for one, would readily follow a man such a this.

Protest peacefully.

The opportunity for this to be the correct choice has passed continuously. Frankly, you have to be some form of mentally retarded if you've actually been paying attention and not came to this conclusion.

Get involved with the political process.

Did you not just witness Bernie getting the primary stolen from him? Are you not witnessing a billionaire carrying a political movement of the likes of which have never been seen in the history of the United States (now 240 years old) go "neck and neck" with one of the most obviously corrupt politicians ever to be part of congress? I mean, you couldn't possibly have a case.

Let any one of us mishandle some classified material and watch how quick we're brought up on charges.

So maybe "We the People" should start handling the "justice" for our government employees instead of leaving the rats to police themselves.

Snowden is charged with espionage. Treason is defined more strictly as "levying War" in the Constitution.

I get written up if I don't encrypt my email that contains PII, even though the email is staying within our agency on our own servers.

This "write-up" is more than anything that will happen to Hillary.

[–] naviathan 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

NC passed a law last year that requires Law firms and realtors to encrypt any emails that contain PII or risk a pretty serious fine. Hillary though gets a pass?

Okay, I get that. But how? We already have an established precedent for... well, precedent. How in earth is a judge, presiding over a real case, with real lawyers, gonna get out of this? "Oh, I know we let Clinton off, but fuck you buddy. Fuck you real good. Court is adjourned."
