The very unfortunate part of this is that in the 241 years since this happening, the government has learned quite a bit about how to quietly suppress the people and quell any revolution before it even begins.
While I fully understand the intent here, and while I hope the American people really aren't so stupid as to turn over their weapons in the face of such incredible falsity and misrepresentation, I feel there is far too much apathy in the American people to actually do something - to take a physical stand as a united front to the forces which have been assaulting our freedoms for so long now.
To the powers that be, the game is the same. It always has been. And when populations rise, and the extension of government is necessary in certain respects, there are conflicts. My mind is drawn to the infamous scene in 'Tombstone' when the Earps ask everyone to turn in their guns while in town. Oh, it's only while you're in town because you won't need them. This is good, they say, as it will ensure [domestic tranquility].
Well, people are short sighted, gutless, and have no patience to see a tough situation through to its natural end. The San Francisco "housing crisis" (which is in no way any sort of crisis) is a perfect example. And in reaction to this ... this excuse to whine about not getting what they want right now and not later right now right now right now now now, people will make stupid decisions and pass laws which will ultimately fuck them hard later on.
And the gun issues is just the same. We know the facts. We know the figures. But the gutless whiners don't care and they just want what they want because "it's safer" and they want it right now now now. Who the fuck are these people? Where in Hell do they come from? Do they even exist?
And what are we going to do about it? How are we going to ACTUALLY combat this?
And don't fucking tell me we'll shoot back. Because as much as the couch-soldiers say they're gung-ho to fight for gun rights, I know damned well a whole lot of them will cower at the first shots and give up.
Don't kid yourself: THIS IS NOT A WAR TO BE FOUGHT WITH GUNS. If we try to fight this war with guns ... it'll be bad. Like really bad. Like starving people bad. And if we try a guerrilla war, well, we'll get martial law. Yay for that.
So what's it going to take for the American people to stand up NOW and stop this bullshit? Cause if the bullets fly, I fear we will have already lost.

Dude you fucking nailed it. An armed population may have many benefits, but I support 100% the idea and the reality, that if there is armed conflict with the government, any revolution in progress has failed.
Whatever your beliefs about bearing arms, we absolutely must resist non-violently. As Chris Hedges has said, a violent revolution rewards those most predisposed to violence, barbarism, and cruelty. We cannot afford to become the monsters we fight. The issues may not have changed, but the times absolutely have.

The military wouldnt fight the citizens, and i doubt any general would follow orders to attack americans. Instead youd find that the pressure would be put to end it asap, without bloodshed. Remember the government are PC, and know that the rest of the world will be watching.
The military needs our infrastructure more than we do. If the highways, power grid, water sources go quickly youd have a mass riot of people not fighting who would create a nice distraction for the uprising.

Read up in the National Defense Authorization Act. It allows the military to be deployed against US civilians. There was a lawsuit against Obama for it, and the case was thrown out before being heard.

You don't know that homeland security is comprised of non Americans and that they ordered millions of hollow point bullets back in the 2000's. Our that Obama just resigned indefinite detention into law? They're prepared for war or chaos. I'm sitting here watching while people are migrating into factions. Blm, nationalists, la raza, left, right.. We're being set up.
