Exactly, it's a slippery slope. We should allow people to run businesses as they see fit. If what they're doing to truly vile then the community will stand up and boycott.

It's really not that long ago that blacks were refused service at most establishments and the community at large saw it as a good thing. "The community" isn't a good enough deterrent to keep people from being unfairly targeted. With sjws increasing in number as they are it might not be too long until straight white males are the target of community discrimination.

No problem at all. A business owner should be able to refuse any service, basic needs or not.

I think forcing Christians to bake gay wedding cakes is about equivalent to walking into a Muslim-owned restaurant and demanding that they put pork on the menu and serve it to you (or to force Muslims to bake gay wedding cakes.) It's different than if a gay couple walks into the bakery and orders whatever and the baker says, "we don't serve faggots." Although in my personal opinion they should have the right to do even that if they wish. The government should stay completely out of who a private business chooses to do business with. If those offended want to shut the place down, they are free to try to do so by trying to get a boycott going on their own.

Wait. Unless the business name clearly identified it as a Christian bakery, like calling it "Jesus' Cakes" or "Christ's Hot Loaves", how are people supposed to know that the owners feelings may be hurt if you request a cake for a gay wedding? Hell, what about requesting a wedding cake for someone who's already been married before and is most likely living in sin? If you can't have a deeply personal and private relationship with Jesus Christ without it interfering with your job, maybe you should switch jobs. Or get thicker skin.

If all bakeries refused to bake cakes for gay weddings, new bakeries could be started to make cakes for them and probably make good money. This isn't about cakes, it's about punishing little-o orthodox Christians for their beliefs.

Thing is, this is the supreme court making decisions, not Congress making laws.

I didn't follow the bakers' story too closely at the time, but I think the husband also put the gay couple's personal info out on the net and encouraged other people to harass them, which then resulted in people threatening the couple.

I support the bakers' right - or the right of any business anywhere - to refuse service to anyone at their own discretion. But I think they overstepped themselves when they actually went on the offensive against the homos. Had I been in their place, I'd have politely told them that I couldn't fulfill their order, and directed them to another bakery, then hated them quietly and from a distance.

I support the bakers' right bakers' right

When I picture baker's rights in my head I see a bunch of Swedish Chef's yelling "Yorgy borgy" and waving protest signs attached to rolling pins with "Yorgy Borgy NOW!" written on them.

And yes I am completely sober.

To be fair with the cake thing, the reason they were fined was because they started a smear campaign against the couple and organized a protest at the wedding.

The top one is a business owner, the bottom is a worker. The money from the bottom comes from the business owner of the truck driving delivery company, one would assume.

Sorry, I hate PC shit as much as you do, but don't bend the truth.
