Call it whatever you like. I'm a supervisor at a large biomedical laboratory, and I see it very consistently that women, especially young women are more able to perform many different simple tasks within a specified time-frame than the male techs (on average.) However, when shit is hitting the fan and there is a problem, it's almost always a male lead that identifies the problem and comes up with a solution. The male techs also more frequently stay overtime to resolve issues that the female techs leave for the next shift, even those without the obligations of children (wage gap anyone?)
