I was looking forward to this. It was pretty in depth..from a certain point of view. Made it through 3 episodes...hippy bullshit.

I watched it. It doesnt try to be a strict military history of the war, or a documentary on the history of Vietnam, it's more a documentary about how the war affected America. If you keep in mind the politics of the makers and that the politics of the era are so intertwined with the story of Vietnam when you watch it, you'll find it pretty interesting. I learned some things, i know I didnt learn everything.
The criticisms in the linked review are mostly it wasnt as exhaustive as it should have been. That's valid. It seems like the reviewer is concerned that viewers will form a politically relevant opinion about the war based on the documentary, but I wasnt watching it that way. I didnt expect it to overlap with the more military-focused kind of documentaries they show on American Heroes Channel or whatever.
