Yeah, the game was created for children and it is pretty obvious that is what they were going for by cutting out a LOT of the challenging parts. Also, I don't like how you were just handed a Latios. In the originals that was one of the hardest Pokémon to catch, and the challenge in getting one made it feel rare and unique.

I believe Gamefreak made EVs and IVs more accessible as a way to appeal to the older crowd who want to play competitively, but that left people like me, who want a challenging single player game, disappointed.

Who gives a shit about EVs when all you have to do is shoot a couple soccerballs in a net to get +10 Special Attack at level 10

You can actually turn off the Exp Share if you want a harder challenge. Overall, I was quite disappointed by ORAS as well, because it seemed like a step down from Emerald, which is my favourite game in the franchise. There is no Battle Frontier in ORAS, instead we get the Battle Maison, which kinda sucks. I also liked facing both Team Magma and Team Aqua in Emerald, but in ORAS you just face one of the evil teams depending which game you get.

Now that I've gotten to the third gym I noticed they turned everything east of the day care place into its own cell just so they could add some cool camera angles. I had no problem with the city before and would have had them reskin it than turn it into a turd. I guess this will be the last Pokemon game I'll ever get and the only reason I got it was because I haven't had fun since Emerald. I'm already level 30 and haven't battled more than 30 wild pokemon.
