Agreed. When I was a child, UK voting age was 21, and lowered in 1969 to 18, and marriage without parental consent also reduced to 18....

As I get older I see how people develop at different speeds, and I can see myself at 21, and I'm horrified at how little I understood how the world worked...

I take your point about some children not being ready. I think they learn by example, and from both good and bad. Learning is stronger when the emotional content is high, as it would be in abuse situations. Most probably this child did not learn that behaviour just from watching stuff, so I imagine there must have been some sort of trigger..

Agree with your statement. I also believe that the trigger you speak of was sexual abuse. This was a horrible crime. This was not some kind of pass he made or invitation. This was brutal. For a child to murder another Child there is something seriously wrong in his life and background. Certainly with his relationship with his parents. That's where it all starts. From Day 1.
