Great post, thank you!

I haven't see this mentioned:

The symbol Tanit, used on Youth2ESV.org, is almost never shown as having legs.

This is the best example I have found:

From the British Museum: https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/limestone-stela-with-images-of-the-goddess-tanit/6wEA3B3SGovLCw

Tanit might be a mermaid demon, as well as a human sacrifice demon as mentioned by Random Rants of Ryan.

Other goddesses/deities/demons -- with -- no legs, arms out to the side, and, the second, below,* has a crescent moon atop its head as this Tanit in the British Museum does :

https://kek.gg/i/3YwzTq.jpg *

*The second image is from the alleged Nostradamus picture book...which even if authentic, I do not endorse Nostradamus. I just included it in case it's a "legless spirit" the cabal believes in

The Youth2ESV's Tanit's crown points are similar to the crown points on the Starbucks mermaid:

This article suggests the points reflect pope's hats:

Former Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean, has Haitian mermaid spirits on her coat of arms :

I don't know anything about Tanit, or mermaid demons, etc., just thought I would point out there are usually no legs in representations of Tanit.

I'm adding this to my comment above.

I just saw this, I wonder if Tanit's legs are omitted to reference it is standing behind an altar, as in the Gloria Vanderbilt photo:

To make things more complicated and bizarre, in the story of the "twin-tailed siren" -- from which a woodcut from a Nordic version was used for the original Starbucks logo -- she/it only was a mermaid on Saturdays:

Some historians have theorized that the Tanit symbol has a dual meaning - it is a simple picture of a goddess, but also is a pictorial representation of the sacrificial ritual, with the outstretched arms being the altar, the head being a baby on the altar, and the body being base of the altar, hence no legs in the picture. https://web.archive.org/web/20140326163558/http://themagicalbuffet.com/blog1/2007/03/31/magical-buffet-mythology-tanit/

I don't like to be critical but I don't think the mermaid has any direct relation to Tanit, and I think it is just a coincidence that they both don't have legs.

Think about this: Davis was an Ancient Studies major at Columbia https://archive.is/jqKkX#selection-1653.0-1653.71 . Since the Tanit symbol is an ancient symbol, it is unlikely that Davis was not familiar with the symbol and its meaning.

From Encyclopaedia Britannica:

"She was probably the consort of Baal Hammon (or Amon), the chief god of Carthage, and was often given the attribute “face of Baal.” Although Tanit did not appear at Carthage before the 5th century BC, she soon eclipsed the more established cult of Baal Hammon and, in the Carthaginian area at least, was frequently listed before him on the monuments. In the worship of Tanit and Baal Hammon, children, probably firstborn, were sacrificed. Ample evidence of the practice has been found west of Carthage in the precinct of Tanit, where a tofet (a sanctuary for the sacrifice of children) was discovered. Tanit was also worshiped on Malta, on Sardinia, and in Spain."

Look how similar the Y2ESV symbol is to most of the Tanit symbols: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=tanit+symbol&t=opera&iax=images&ia=images

A distinct feature of many of the representations of Tanit is the upwardly pointing hands, also seen on the Y2ESV symbol.

More on child sacrifice to Tanit: http://archive.is/sjprD Interestingly, Y2ESV was founded in July 2014, 6 months after this article was published.

OK, depending on your setup, it might vary. Images of Tanit should get you there. Use duckduckgo. Up left, make sure you are indeed on images. Ping back when you see the crescent and moon.

[–] Zorrilla 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Yes, I saw the crescent on the Unilever logo. With all the other odd symbols on that logo it definitely raises questions. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

EDIT: I see it now! https://www.nps.gov/afbg/learn/historyculture/images/Tanit.jpg This is very weird and I don't understand what it is doing there. This should be looked into further.

I'm sorry, I don't see the Tanit symbol anywhere on that website, nor do I see it in the Unilever logo - could you provide a more specific link or image capture?

[–] YogSoggoth 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago  (edited ago)

You probably went to the main website. Try that,+decode, symbols. I actually got that from images, tanit in the comments or post. Unilever has a crescent moon(?) and a star on the left side of the right side of the U. On the left side of the U is an obvious sun or son symbol. Of course there is a swirly sign to the left bottom. Get out a magnifying glass for that one.

Brilliant find but not surprising. Look at Davis' instagram and you see he has the same interest in ancient Greece, mythology etc as Alefantis. It makes me think Alefantis' interest had nothing to do with his heritage.

This is important information as a whole but that symbol is not Joel's, it is the symbol for the International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflict logo, which is an organization that youth2esv supported and that Joel probably had connections with. It's important not to misconstrue these facts though. While the symbolism is obviously there, it cannot reliably be linked to Joel.

[–] Zorrilla 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

How can you know conclusively that that symbol is not Joel's? I noticed that the symbol was also used by the ICPSRGV, but Joel was the Director and Chairman of that organization. How can you know that he did not commission that design, or design it himself? There are no archives of the ICPSRGV website from before 2017 so how can it be known that they were using the symbol before Davis was involved with the group?

You could be right, but how do you know for sure? There is at least as much evidence to say that he had something to do with the symbol as there is to say he didn't. Also, I think you mean "misconstrue", rather than "construe", unless that was a freudian slip.

[–] downwithpizzaelite 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

He's director and Chairman of Youth2ESV which collaborated with ICPSRGV, a large conglomerate.
