Cats are good for women as pets, especially if they are single for it is sometimes dangerous for them to walk dogs by themselves or when evening starts setting in. I love dogs too, but am really lazy, I could never walk them day after day. Thus we have had a cat too. This was not my pet, but someone in the family that we always visited. So I offered to sit with the pet during it's illness. 2 weeks ago I slept with him for 4 days and so I became even closer than before. Thus it has hit me hard. Part of life and remembering when ours went to Kitty Heaven :(

It sucks but I'm pretty sure that kitty had a quantum soul so will be the on the other side somewhere.

Most def. I asked God last night to make Special Room for him up there. He was exceptional.

Reading that was like looking in a mirror, especially the lazy walking bit lol I do not want the responsibility of cats now, espeially as I have my adult childrens cats often at my house when they go on holidays etc, and I have my grandchildren a lot so don't need any extra responsibilities of kitties at this point in time, as much as I love them, I see them daily at their homes.

We can be grannies and aunties to other peoples pets. That is what I have been doing too.

I love dogs so much and I'd never let dumb crooks deter me from doing anything in life! That's what pepper spray and guns are for. 😈 Mwaha! However as a single lady I do have a feline because they can handle the solitude better. Don't have to let them out to go potty, they can amuse themselves, etc. I only have the one cat as it's a small condo and he is a champ about my work schedule. It just wouldn't be fair to a dog since I'm out 40+ hours a week.

Yes, you are kind to consider your pet. A dog, most of them need a lot more exercise and outside time than cats. Our cat never wanted to go outside. She would run and hide when the door was opened. Never could understand the people that walk with really big dogs and they live in an area with condos and apts. These animals need leg room and running. A neighbor finally gave up his dog to a farm for he had no idea how big the dog would get. I congratulated him for doing the best thing for his animal. The needs of the pet must always come first.
