That would be an overreaction friend. The presence of reptile people is considered straightforward in Hindu epics and they're referred to as the race of Nagas.

Yeah, there is even a large faction of south asians (mainly in Indonesia) who actually still worship Ravana, the serpent/reptile king who is the main antagonist in the Ramayana. He is quite literally worshipped as still living, and it's actually not that far out of the question when you consider all the hollow/honeycomb earth evidence and how it coincides with ALL the knowledge of the nagas in the Hindu texts (I learned about all of this as a kid because my family is hindu, it just about blew my mind when I realized those "myths" that I would read/hear as a child were not that far-fetched). Quite fascinating really.
