Firstly, I'm going out on a limb saying this (about nuclear weapons/bombs) so I want to be careful not to offend (and be called a shill). Secondly, I was only trying to give some hope to the OP who feared such an exchange and thus annihilation (of family etc.). Thirdly, if true the footage is fake (it would not be the only fake footage we've been fed).

it would be nice to believe that. but so much other horrific shit is real, a big nasty ole bomb seems the least of it. I'm not so afraid of nuclear war as much as more incidents like fukishima. All our old nuke plants are ticking time bombs and we enthusiastically put them in our front yard.

If the footage is fake?

Dude, you can physically go there and see the damage.

Yes, Firebombs.. Look at docu "Fog of War" on McNamara ; Listen carefully, he will not speak about nukes, but states it was firebombing that was "worse" - https://freedocumentaries.org/documentary/the-fog-of-war - I saw the film when it was first released in NYC and the director was there. He said you could not tell from the movie itself but that 99 out 100 questions asked the General, only one was answered.. Most of the interview was silence. The director has to work a long time to compile an entire movie.

Some experts have plainly stated that it simply looks like massive fire-bombing. But it is just my opinion after having checked into it a bit. Seems plausible for several reasons but that's just me. Edit: By footage I mean films of nuclear explosions, tests, not Nagasaki.
