From a long time ago I found it odd that the Mormon church was putting so much effort into genealogy websites. Ancestry.com and family search. Spectrum Equity Investors still owns majority of stock even though Ancestry.com is now a publicly traded company. Spectrum also has investment in Cellular One which, if I remember right, donated to CF. Cellular One former chair, kenneth Iscol big CF donor.

I often got the impression Ancestry.com was more than just about making money, which mormons love to do. And I don't think it is about going around and baptizing dead relatives as some have said about it. I think they are looking for specific people or bloodlines for some reason.
