I would love to see a good strong community on here.

Is this gonna be as bad as the Pittsburgh subreddit?

Why was it bad?

It was just filled with hipster yuppie types that talked about their fixed gear bikes and how people should respect them on the road.

I think I posted once about a country concert in the city and asked if anyone wanted to grabs some beers in the parking lot with my friends before hand, and I was downvoted and basically called white trash and a racist. Told to go back to where I came from. I lived in Oakland at the time, and people from Squirrel Hill were calling me a townie.

They just seemed like the kinda people that would only ever do things ironically.

Too many pointless pictures! Seems like about a third of that sub is pictures of bridges, traffic, sunsets, etc. I live there and yesterday's sunset was much more impressive in reality than through your iPhone camera. <end rant>

Might be nice to offer /u/catskull a mod position. He did a good job with the Pittsburgh subreddit. Oh, and immediately block twitter spam from iheartpgh please :)

I am definitely going to be blocking spam from people that post opinion articles from their blogs; it's completely unnecessary, and only serves to earn advertising revenue. And thanks for the suggestion, I didn't know Catskull was on Voat.

I don't know if he is - guess I was pointing to his Reddit username more. Still feeling it out around here! Thanks for starting this.

I would disagree. A lot people I know detest his moderation style.
