I think OP is creating commentary about how Win10 is "free" given the knowledge about how intrusive the OS is, and how much of your data it's stealing.
What I don't get is the word "now" in the title... We knew these privacy concerns existed WAY before the official release, and there were even posts here on Voat over a month ahead of time about this very issue. Then, there was a wave of people who justified Win10 with the "you can turn off telemetry" argument, but only a child would believe Microsoft would actually let you turn their only monetary source off.
Honestly (and I know this sounds cold and heartless) I don't feel a single bit of sympathy or empathy for those that updated and got shafted. We knew what to expect, and we had ample warning. If you updated your machine to Win10, you did it willingly, and I don't sympathize with you.
I use Linux on anything I can, and I keep my Windows machine on 8 for a reason... and I keep a CLOSE eye on updates that come through. For instance, I didn't get this popup because I refused to download the "update" that installed this adware on my system.
