One thing: you should be able to go March for what you believe in without worrying about consequences at work. I’m not saying that you should be able to leave at a moments notice, but that people should be free to exercise their rights.

Bullshit. There are always consequences. Whether it be avoiding work or promoting an ideology that may be destructive. You have a right to protest, you don't have a right to freedom from consequences.

That’s what all those cancel culture people say. Free speech should extend to tolerance of differing opinions. Unless it directly affects their job, it should not matter what they say.

It shouldn't matter, but there's a lot of shoulds in the world that don't coincide with reality. There will always be consequences when putting your opinion on display at full blast.
