I can just picture all his neat little shit falling off the moment an 18-wheeler passes over. Even if not, how exactly is cars going over it and honking their horns make it a habitable space? You'd be constantly bombarded by noise. And it's very exposed to the elements, 1/10, try again.

The concrete actually muffles the nose to a surprisingly great amount.

And for people so sensitive to pollution issues, he's completely ignored the element of vehicle exhaust in a contained space - that arch where the "bed" is located seems to be a carbon monoxide trap.

Literal hipster bridge troll. The whole "minimalist housing" trend is very cucky.

Honestly minimalism in most things is pretty cucksumerist. it usually results in you paying more for less and then needing something larger at a later date which you then have to dump more money on.

[–] lanre 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Minimizing your expenses, sure. But I think selling minimalist stuff to people is a good way for companies to sell less for more, and get people to accept less.

Minimalism isn't about living without stuff you need, and it's not about buying things that are too small or not right for you. It's about only getting and keeping things that you'll actually use and appreciate. It can be as simple as throwing away any non-consumable thing you haven't used in over a year.

The whole "minimalist housing" trend is very cucky.

I don't believe in owning things that I cannot move. That includes a house: why would I want to tie myself to a given parcel of land for twenty, thirty years?

No thanks. I get that the "tiny home" community is full of hipsters and communists, but in my mind, it's an excellent solution to the housing problem (and by "housing problem" I don't mean the lack of housing, necessarily, I mean the problem that is a house).

How about a boat, trailer, or RV/pickup w camper?

As far as tying yourself to land, that depends upon your personality and employment. If you love the area, have a secure source of income anod/or a family, it can be quite sensible.

You know that millions of people don't want to live like wandering gypsies, right? People "tie themselves to a given parcel of land", because they want to have a home.....that provides them with a sense of permanence and belonging. My family had a home for decades, but due to family tragedy.....now we don't. As a result, I feel very disconnected to things around me. The only way I'll regain that feeling, is if I find a permanent home again.

Permanently living as a wandering gypsy just sounds too depressing for me.

That's fine, more for us and cheaper since who ever is selling wants it gone now.

The second one of them fall out of it in a drug fuel haze, the entire program gets sued into dirt. I feel like if you wanted to do something like this, shipping containers are an obvious choice..stationary but movable, stack-able, durable, secure, ubiquitous to ever urban center, and modular.

[–] One-Way_Bus 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Yes! Herd the homeless into shipping containers and send them to Central or South America. Let those countries see how it feels getting dirt poor people with no skills and can't speak the language.

If you have the tools, skills and drive to build that you wouldn't be homeless for long. In fact, you probably don't have to worry about being homeless at all unless it's by choice.

What a worthless hipster. Hopefully a real homeless person stabs him for his shoes.

[–] analfaveto 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

No need for stabbing. If that house (or whatever you want to call that thing) were there for more than a couple of days, a homeless but buff dude would tell him the house has just been "purchased" and would give him an eviction notice with 30 seconds to vacate the premises.

Liberal faggot who is NOT homeless. Being homeless is not fun. It is not pretty nor is it an adventure. Instead it is a tough survival situation where everything is against you. This bullshit mess would fail in a million ways. First, the sound would be awful. Dreadful. No way in hell he would look all clean and rested in this situation. Next, there is only minimal shelter here. Wind, condensation on the bottom of the overpass dripping on your head. Pigeons shitting all over your stuff. Not to mention the REAL issue which is other homeless people simply taking it from you. You go out to pan-handle and come back and there are 6 dudes up there smoking crack. All your stuff is gone what do you do?

Tell them to get the fuck out? Good luck. They will just shoot you and throw you in the ditch. Hell even if you don't leave you will lose this place in a hot minute. They will line up and toss rocks and Molotov at you until you die. If you and your crew is tough enough to keep it well, guess what, here comes the city and the cops. If you are there when they arrive, you will be hauled off to jail for a myriad of broken laws from littering to squatting to destruction of public property. Yeah... this is fake, gay, dangerous and stupid. Whoever this guy is should actually go be homeless for realzies some time instead of doing this gay shit.
