I've always wondered how people capture these moments. Do you take like 100 shots at once and just hope to get lucky or is it a long exposure deal? I'm not a photographer so I'm pretty ignorant on the matter.

I don't really consider myself a photographer, just a bloke who likes to take photos. In this case it was take a lot of photos and luck really. I took about 80 photos and had about 5 with lightning.

It was taken on an Olympus E-510, it was with a 1 second exposure (f/3.5 ISO-100 and focal length of 14mm). That was a nice storm because there was heaps of lightning and no rain / hail! It was a few years ago now.
