Clearly there were lines of women wanting to work here and they were turned away because the patriarchy.

93% of workplace deaths are men. That only leaves a measley 7% for women! Seven percent!
Our plans to solve the Workplace Death Gap have been foiled again by the nefarious patriarchy!

Soviet Russia sent women out to be sloggers the same as the men. Leftist academics and brownshirts want it again.

For a great percentage of women getting to be home to raise the kids is desirable, and increasingly western societies are pretending that that's not just unusual, but actually immoral. Send them all to work, raise the cost of living!

Even breastfeeding your own child is now considered oppressive.

I can agree with that, used to climb communication towers. Anywhere from 100 to 1,000 feet, average tower was 6-800 feet that we were on. Days started about 5 am and started climbing up shortly after that, and didn't come down until 8 or 9 pm. Most we consumed all day was fluids.

Did you pee off the tower, or into a cup?

Fuck that fucking shit for a living also.

I dont know what tv show i watched i think it was a nat geo one with this skinny goateed fucker.

Hes working on re installing an aerial on top of one of them.comms towers in the middle of nowhere near bumfuck north dakota and im repeatedly noping out of the tv show entirely every time they show one of them extreme selfie interview things, not because of how fucked up the presenters position is... bit how even more fucked up the camera guys position has to be and how the shit he would have to hold onto that stuff...

The filming crews are the unacknowledged badasses of those shows.

Tl;dr fuck that shit.

I have a phobia of heights, and this made me very uncomfortable just looking at it. Especially the guy who was standing. How these guys can casually sit, eat, and do it smiling while being in that spot will never cease to amaze me. It does not compute. "Hey, you are a couple inches from death, right now, and how's that bologna sandwich by the way...did your wife use that nasty brown mustard again?"

You realize this famous photo is a perspective shot right? They're less than a meter above a finished concrete pour.

I've worked construction all my life. There is always a woman on the job trying to be a man. I haven't seen one yet that can actually do the job.

Was an apprentice electrician for exxon mobil years ago.

Had one of them. But she was one of the boys. Until lunch time when she was out of the overalls and into spandex, jogged past the lunch huts every day and up the street and back again.

And she could do the job. She was about 30 years older than me then and she still turns me on now.

I guess women refused to take these jobs because they didn't get equal pay for equal work.

A lot of this work was done by Native Americans from a certain tribe in New York. I cannot remember the name of the tribe, but they apparently had no fear of heights.
